My brother is the taller of the two. 看这俩男孩，我哥是当中较高那个。 ⑦注意：修饰比较级的词： much+ 比较级= a lot + 比较级=far+比较级 ：····的多 a bit + 比较级= a little +比较级：稍微··· even + 比较级=still+ 比较级：甚至更··· 以上词组的记忆方法： 两多 （much、 a lot ）， 两少 （a bit、a little）,两甚至（even、still），还有一个 远（far） 去了 例 10：He feels a lot better today.今儿他感觉好多了。 例 11 ： This book is even more beautiful than that one.这本书甚至比那本更漂亮的。 最高级 ① ····the 最高级+in 或 of 后加一群人或事物的名词或代词 例 1：Tom is the tallest in his class.汤姆是他班里最高的 例 3：I jump(the) farthest in my class.在我班里我跳得最远。 ②···one of the 最高级+复数名词 （最··之一） 例 4：Beijing is one of the largest cities in China. 北 京是中国最大的城市之一。 ③···the 序数词+最高级+可数名词单数 （第几最···？） 例 5：The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.黄河是中国第二长河。 ④疑问词 Which/ Who····最高级 A, B or C? 例 6：Which is the biggest city, Beijing,Shanghai or Zhangqiu?哪个城市最大北京，上海，还是章丘？ ⑤ 与 比 较 级 的 转 化 the+ 形 容 词 最 高 级 + 可 数 名 词 单 数 of/in··=···than the other + 复 数 名 词 =than any other +可数名词单数 例 7 ： Lin Tao is the tallest student in our class=Lin Tao is taller than the other students in our class.=Lin Tao is taller than any other student in our class. 林涛是我们班最高的学生。 ⑥最高级前一般加 the，但是前面有 one’s 时就不用 加 the 了！同时副词的最高级前面可不加 the,加 the 也可以。 例 9： Linda is my sister’ s best friend. 琳达是我妹的最好的朋友 ⑦ 在 最 高 级 前 修 饰 最 高 级 的 词 语 ： nearly （ 几 乎 ） 、 almost( 几 乎 ) （ by ） far （ 相 当 ） 、 the very （ 很 ） 、 much（···的多）等。记忆方法：几乎几乎相当很多 例 10：This is much the most important.这是最重要的。 例 11：This hat is nearly（或 almost）the biggest 这 个帽子几乎是最大的 3. 中考之长、宽、高、深 ① 7 meters long 7 米长= 7 meters in length [leŋθ] ② 7 inches wide 7 英寸宽=7 inches in width [wɪdθ] (注意：1 英寸=2.54cm) ③ 7 feet high=7 英尺高 7 feet in height (注意：1 英尺=30.48cm=12 英寸) ④1.7meters tall 一米七高=1.7 meters in height ⑤ 7meters deep=7 meters in depth [depθ] 7 米深 ⑥ 7 kilos in weight7 千克重=···weigh(s) 7 kilos ⑦ 1 meter thick 1 米厚 ⑧ in size 在尺寸上，在大小上 4. 中考之 high 与 tall ① tall 高的(人、树、墙、建筑物)② high 高的（山、速度、价格、温度） ③ 1.7meters tall 一米七高=1.7 meters in height ④ 1.7-meter-tall1.7 米高的（形容词） 例 1 ： Q is higher than any other mountain in the world.= Q is higher than the other mountains in the world.Q 比世界上其他任何一座山都要高。 （注意：A、B 同范围可以用 the other+复数 或 any other+单数 A、B 不同范围用 any+单数（见下面例 2） 例 2：Canada is larger than any country in Asia. 加拿大比亚洲的任何一个国家都要大（不同范围） 例
